Polonium team in Berlin!

Building on the Science: Polish Perspectives (SPP) success and the known need for such events we decided to reach out to Polish scientist working outside the UK. In October 2016 Polonium Foundation met in Berlin with a group of Polish scientists working in Germany, who are ready to initiate Berlin SPP Meetup. The two-day event in Berlin planned for autumn 2017 aims to bring together active Polish scientists working in Germany and inspire them to build communities of Polish researchers locally.

The kick-off meeting to plan the event was a success!  We discussed how we can support building a network of Polish scientist in Germany, country-specific challenges ahead of us, and a provisional agenda of the Meetup. The organising team is motivated, enthusiastic and very experienced, and we’re thrilled to have them on board.
Polonium had a great time wandering around Berlin by night, getting to know local SPP Meetup team and drinking delicious beer.

We are excited for the  SPP Meetup: Berlin, the first of its kind meeting connecting Polish scientists in Germany, and hopefully a beginning of a whole series of meetups across the globe. So, watch this space!
